Janet French has been teaching Pilates since the mid 90's. She was first introduced to Pilates while pursuing her career in dance and immediately saw the application for all movement disciplines.
After obtaining a degree in Dance from Butler University, Janet did her initial Pilates studies with Idrienne Steimen through the Physicalmind system. She also pursued teacher training through Integrated Balance and Balanced Body.
Janet has taught in Pilates and Dance in both private studios and academic settings. She taught in the Indianapolis and Louisville areas and spent a year as a guest teacher in Jakarta Indonesia before coming to the Springs. She has been teaching at Sun Pilates since she arrived here in 2014.
Janet believes that Pilates can benefit virtually everyone, from the beginning student to the proficient athlete. The flow, balance and tensile strength that Pilates practitioners develop has whole life benefits.

Inger Bull is a Stott certified instructor on all Pilates equipment. She received her first Stott certification in 2005, but has been teaching fitness classes long enough that she remembers when step aerobics was the new thing sweeping the nation. She has taught high/low aerobics, step aerobics, indoor cycling, and Pilates. She currently teaches Pilates at Sun Pilates and the Downtown YMCA. In 2019 Inger "pre-tired" from her professional career of 23 years in international education which allowed her to dedicate more time to teaching Pilates. She is married to Anthony Bull, a professor of exercise physiology at Colorado College. They enjoy hiking, biking, and camping as well as academic discussions on the kinesiology of Pilates exercises.

Katharine Jensen took her first Pilates mat class in 2011 and was immediately hooked. Meet Our Pilates SOL Apprentices!

Carolyn Dougherty is an apprentice Pilates instructor currently working toward certification. She first began practicing Pilates in 2016 but became a regular client at Sun Pilates in 2020 when she was looking for a new exercise routine during the pandemic. She loved the classes and instructors so much that she started attending almost five times a week. In 2023, inspired by her own transformation and a desire to help others, she became an apprentice with Pilates Sol. Carolyn is passionate about helping people find the right modifications for their individual needs, making Pilates accessible for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or background. She loves creating a positive and uplifting environment where people can feel good about themselves. When she's not practicing Pilates Carolyn enjoys traveling, going to concerts, tackling home DIY projects, and spending time with her pack of rescue dogs and cats.

Courtney Farrell is a lifelong athlete, enjoying Pilates, yoga, martial arts, and horseback riding.
She has always been adventurous. In her teens she became a certified riding instructor
and worked her way through college by breaking and training wild horses. She
discovered martial arts as a student at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins,
Colorado. For the next 24 years, she studied and taught Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Jujitsu,
and Hapkido. She holds a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was once the
U.S. National Champion. Courtney retired from her career as a science writer and

Becca Norris is currently working towards her comprehensive Pilates certification with Pilates SOL. She started practicing Pilates in 2017 and has been hooked from the beginning. She has worked in the fitness industry since 2010 and is excited to finally add Pilates to her education. She has a B.S. in Exercise Science and began her career working as a Physical Therapy Aide. She then became a group fitness instructor (spinning, body pump, bootcamp…etc) and has been a personal trainer since 2011 specializing in injury prevention and recovery. After starting Pilates in her own practice, she quicky fell in love and understood how it would be beneficial for everyone. During the pandemic, she started a corporate job and worked her personal training job part-time for almost 5 years. After leaving the corporate world in 2024, she knew she wanted to return to the fitness field full-time. Choosing to add Pilates to her education was an easy decision. She is also certified in plant-based nutrition and is a yoga teacher at a local studio. Health and fitness is her passion and she’s excited to continue to inspire and motivate others towards a healthier and stronger version of themselves.
